Is This Really Possible?
Julian is a bodyworker and the owner of Pain and Performance Solutions in Santa Rosa, California.
Julian started his business a few years ago and he loved doing the work of helping people heal from pain. The business was making about $5900 a month in average monthly revenue. If you asked him how business was at that point, he would have said, “Good!” and meant it.
What Was Really Going On
On the surface, business was good. He was getting new clients regularly, he loved the work, and he was making enough money.
But under the surface there were a few struggles that were bothering him…
“I was very much just working by the hour, like a contractor. Every time I started a session with a client I felt compelled to provide enough ‘wow’ and ‘aha’ and ‘oh I feel better’ so that by the end of that session they would pay for that appointment and then book the next one.
I felt like I was constantly repeating myself and always trying to make a sale with every session. For me sales is not my strong point and that was a very exhausting part of my work.
I did feel like there were a lot of people I was helping and things were going along great, but then they would fall off the map. One appointment would get cancelled and I would follow up but they wouldn’t necessarily return my phone call. They wouldn’t get back on the schedule and months later they’d come back and say, ‘Oh yeah, the problem’s still here.’
I was also trying to make business more consistent. I’d have weeks where I’d be totally slammed and tired at the end of every day and kind of exhausted and not able to do everything I wanted to do during the week. Then other weeks where I’d be like, ‘Alright, I’ve got two clients today and nothing to do the rest of the day.‘
I didn’t feel fluid and regular. I knew I needed help in some way to streamline things and make it work better for me and my clients.”
How Julian Turned It All Around

That alone made my work so much more fulfilling. I didn’t even know it was possible that my favorite work I’ve ever found could be that much better, that I could work exactly how I was meant to and the results for the clients were that much better – so I’m really just kind of blown away.”
How To Get Better Results Without Changing Your Marketing
This is the new normal, by the way. These numbers aren’t a result of some brand new paid advertising campaign that brought in some huge influx of new people.
Quite the opposite: Julian has done NOTHING to change any of his marketing.
This is all the result of changing the structure of his pricing, packaging, and sales process.

He’s not doing anything on social media.
He could and can (and probably will) add some marketing pieces in the future, but he’s practically doubled his revenue and is feeling more fulfilled and like he’s building his dream business, just by changing his pricing, packaging, and sales process.
On The Fence? Here’s What Julian Suggests
I asked Julian what he would say to another business owner who might be considering embarking on this process.
“What I would say to someone, like another bodyworker or another person who works one-on-one with clients, ‘You don’t know what you don’t know’.
You might feel like you’re actually doing your life’s work, like you’re doing the most fun thing you could possibly be doing, the thing you want to be doing…but you don’t know it actually can be even better than that. And that was definitely describing me four or five months ago.
I was doing great work and really having a wonderful time but didn’t know that it could be that much better. I knew a little bit that I could be better, but I didn’t know how.
